  • Hiroaki SHINO, Director

    Mr. Hiroaki Shino has been serving the State of Missouri Department of Economic Development Japan Office since October 1993, and was appointed as Director of Tokyo Office in July 2002.
    He brings a wealth of experience in helping Missouri firms to navigate and successfully grow their businesses in Japan as well as in assisting Japanese firms to find profitable, long-term investment partners in Missouri.
    Mr. Shino was previously engaged in international trade for Nippon Chemi-con Corporation, a leading electronics manufacturer, where he gained ten years of Japanese and overseas business experience as a Sales Manager for the Asian market along with managing the Singapore sales office for four years. Mr. Shino graduated from Waseda University and is a Japanese native.

    Mr. Ted Hunter joined Missouri's Japan Trade and Investment office in December 2004, bringing with him experience in assisting foreign firms successfully establish and expand their presences in Tokyo.
    Through market research, trade shows, seminars and other industry events, Mr. Hunter has been able to provide Missouri firms with a wealth of information on current market trends and opportunities, as well as information on and introductions to potential partners and customers.
    In addition to his three years' experience in Japan, Mr. Hunter has lectured in marketing and business communications in Singapore and Thailand. He also holds a degree in business management.
    Mr. Hunter is an active member of the American State Offices Association, and serves as chairperson of the Trade Committee, acting as a liaison to Japanese industry associations, government organizations and exhibition organizers, such as Japan Management Association, Japan Analytical Instruments Manufacturers Association, Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Osaka International Trade Fair Committee, providing Missouri companies with a variety of promotional opportunities.
